The Wacky Animal Report is a motivating and fun way to teach report writing (transactional writing) to students. They can do this individually or cooperatively with other students. They love being creative and original with their ideas and factsInstructions1) Let student choose from the pictures included (or find your own online) 2) Allow them time to talk and share their ideas with another student.3) Get each student to come up with a clever name for their animal. E.g. Eleurtle for the half elephant half turtle. 4) Use the attached sheet to brainstorm some of their key ideas for their report.5) Let them do some research online to get true facts about both animals.6) Use the Google Slides document, PowerPoint (included) or your own paper version to make a flip book for your animal.7) Present your animal to the whole class or online.
